LifeSkills, LLC established Park Place Recovery Center in 1991 as a short-term, residential substance use treatment facility providing services to individuals with co-occurring disorders. In 2017, Park Place Recovery Center expanded treatment services to Park Place Recovery Center for Women, a 20-bed women’s facility designed to allow mothers to bring their children 2 years of age and younger into treatment with them, and Park Place Recovery Center for Men, a 16-bed men’s facility. As licensed dual diagnosis treatment facilities, Park Place Recovery Centers achieved accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Level of Care 3.5 and AODE licensed; focuses on person-centered treatment goals to address substance use and behavioral health issues.

The Park Place Recovery Centers treatment philosophy incorporates personal choice through a client-centered treatment approach utilizing objective assessment and multimodality therapies and introduces community support groups and 12-step programs. Evidence-based treatment modalities have demonstrated successful outcomes with the development and maintenance of sobriety, increased feelings of self-esteem, self-efficacy, self-worth, and a healthy balanced lifestyle. Park Place incorporates a combination of treatment strategies that provide a holistic approach to address the unique needs of individuals. This method allows us to identify and address the many factors contributing to addiction, mental health issues, and other self-destructive behaviors and empower individuals to live a successful, stable, and drug-free life. Individuals receive all services in the least restrictive environment possible.

During the treatment process, individuals participate in an intense and structured treatment routine that is person-centered to their needs. Treatment services include individual therapy, family therapy, psychotherapy groups, case management, psychiatric medication management, Adult Peer Support services, and educational classes specific to topics such as chemical dependency, mental health, Living in Balance, Anger Management, 12-Step programming, health, nutrition, coping skills, and relapse prevention. Individuals are also eligible for Program Good Time Credit through the Department of Corrections. Treatment activities outside the facility include 12-Step meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, optional faith-based recovery services and church attendance, recreation, and attendance at other recovery-based events. Barren River Health Department also provides optional, anonymous HIV and Hepatitis C testing once a month to individuals while involved in the program.
